Recipe for My Perfect Day
You will need:
1) Two large drops of the dewy air on an early morning in the spring
2) A cup of the smell of light rain
3) Cool temperature – not too hot, not too cold
4) Him. All of him
And last but not least
5) A never-ending field of flowers that doesn’t take you to a specific destination
First, take the two large drops of the dewy air on an early morning in the spring and
inhale it. Let the freshness hit the bottom of your lungs.
Next, sprinkle a cup of the smell of light rain. Sprinkle it everywhere – on the ground,
in your hair, in the air, all over your clothes.
Thirdly, add the never-ending field of flowers that doesn’t take you to a specific
destination. Once it’s been added, run. Run freely, and feel the flowers brush against
your arms and legs , feel the softness and delicacy of the petals against your skin.
Dance until your heart’s content. Spin round and round, let your inner child out. Let
your body collapse, beds of beautiful tulips softening your fall. Close your eyes and
listen to the birds chirruping.
Then open your eyes. Turn your head. You’ll see him. All of him. Laying next to you.
His floppy brown hair that feels like silk in your fingers. His big, firm hands gripping
your cheeks. His hazel eyes you could drown in. The softness of his lips brushing
yours. The feeling of electricity buzzing all around your body whenever he touches
you. He will change everything – your life, your perspective of the world in the best
way possible. Hold him tight and never let go.
Finally, mix in a cool temperature, not too hot, not too cold. Warm enough to lay
there all day but cool enough to breathe. And there you have it! The most perfect
day. The one you’ll remember forever and keep it in the back of your mind, replaying
it over and over.
